There has been a lot of talk lately about the new types of open source software that has been developed in the last few years, but is it just that: talk. Is this software a good alternative or is it just a bunch of talk? I think it depends on what you are looking for in your computer.
If you are looking for a program code that is open to your discretion, then open source might be the option for you. If you are not prepared to work with this type of software and make changes as need or you feel that the software is fine the way it is, then you might want to stay with closed source software.
It really depends on what your situation is. If you are willing to take the time to work with your open source software then this may be the option for you because it is very interactive software. If you just need the software for a few minor daily tasks then open source software might not be the best option.
